most of you know i am fond of resistance and most of you know white is my favorite way to resist color. some of you know that i am from the midwest, the great lakes region, where snow is plentiful, snow that i love, and a few of you, now many, know that i am of mostly finnish and a little norwegian descent, therefor genetically inclined to forage for icy meat in icier waters....

so my friend, it should be no surprise that today was one of the happiest days of the year for me. weeee. whizzzz. zipping through the afternoon, my glasses iced and fogging, my clothes wet and freezing, but my feet dry thanks to the marvels of the gortex hiking boots i bought 7 years ago. and what a day! two busses i rode got stuck. i lost my gloves, that i had just found. the people i was supposed to meet in central park were an hour late. i ran out of tobacco, and money. and STILL it was the best day of the year. blissful, splenderiferal, fantasmagical, iscious!

and all of you who wouldn't go to coney island with me, i called a number of you, well, i didn't go either... but the park was fine, i found a natural slide (concreete railings near 59th and 6th), my friends showed up, and rossana bought me hot chocolate and shared her french fries! that's right! hot chocolate and french fries!

then jon fed me matzah ball soup from juniors!

then, even late at night, the busses didn't make me wait too long to get home and none got stuck!

then when i got home i found a dead mouse in the trap i set a few days ago, which was extra special pleasing because this morning when i woke up i noticed the cheese had been eaten but the mouse not trapped. bastard. so imagine my surprise when tonight i found a dead mouse in a trap with no cheese! of course i feel bad about this. i could have gotten one of those nice traps that just catches it so you can throw it outside, or in your ex-boyfriends house. but all my ex-boyfriends have moved away and the snow would kill it anyway. i love snow!

so anyway. here i am.

happy. happy as a seal with fish, or a polar bear with seal, which reminds me.... friday night is the polar bear club. lots going on the next few days...

have a good weekend. and thank you ky for the most special gift in the mail.
